La citazione è centro propulsivo delle opere creative e saggistiche di Guido Morselli, fino a Dissipatio H.G., dialogo solitario, antagonistico o solidale, con i libri altrui, per mezzo di brani ricordati a memoria. Il carteggio con padre Battista Mondin, tra il 1968 e il 1969, discutendo sulla perscrutabilità e imperscrutabilità del divino, conclude con la constatazione che l'umanità proposta dai Vangeli rimane una utopia. Una sezione del saggio tuttora inedito Teologia in crisi si fonda sulla lettura, sulle sottolineature e sui commenti a margine dei due testi di padre Mondin dedicati al teologo protestante Tillich presenti nella biblioteca personale di Morselli.

In the letters sent to father Battista Mondin, between 1968 and 1969, Morselli discusses whether God might be known and understood. This correspondence concludes the observation that humanity – as proposed in the Gospels – is a utopia. A section of the still unpublished Teologia in crisi is based on the readings, underlinings, and comments written in the margin of the two texts by father Mondin, dedicated to the protestant theologian Tillich, and present in Morselli's personal library.
