L’opera del regista francese Daniel Mesguich mostra una volontà di svelare in scena i meccanismi del lavoro teatrale, collegando ogni testo all’intera tradizione costituita dalle sue varie realizzazioni e interpretazioni. La citazione, inserendo personaggi o scene provenienti da altri testi, si impone allora come un procedimento essenzialmente metateatrale.
