The purpose of this essay is to explore in depth all the quotations and allusions in Il tempo che non muore, Stefano Carrai's first poem collection. I will look at the sources, particularly those of the epigraphs to the texts. Vittorio Sereni and Eugenio Montale are models towards whom Carrai most often turns to.
